Moving to Marketing

I've been waiting to hear back for a while now on a position I applied for in the Marketing department where I work. I was offered the postition on Wednesday and I'm ridiculously excited! I'll be working on the Events Staff, helping to plan and present the many fun conventions and training sessions that my company puts together, as well as get a little more writing and travel experience as well! I'm really hoping that this experience will open up an awesome doorway of opportunity as I build my career.

Just Like Old Times

Last week was a quick jog down memory lane for me.

On Wednesday, I had the chance to go over to my roommate Catherine's for dinner with her and her husband Brian. Catherine and I lived together from 2003 to 2005. It was really great relaxing for a while at their cute little house, playing catch up on a few years, and eating Catherine's GREAT food! Thanks Catherine and Brian! We need to do it again sometime!

On Saturday, I drove up to northern Utah to spend the day with Laura and her family. Laura and I were roommates from my Freshman and Sophomore years at BYU. Again, it was great to get to know Laura's husband and two kids, as well as spend time remembering SO many good times from what feels like forever ago. We went out for an eventful ;0) lunch at Winger's.

Seriously a blast! I'd forgotten how much I missed all our random fun! Thanks for a great day!

YSA Summit

I spent this last weekend at my first YSA (Young Single Adult) Conference at the Salt Lake City Institute near the U. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, having never been to one, but really had a great time. I took four classes:
  1. All These Things Shall Give The Experience (Scott Featherstone)
  2. Deciding to Decide (Dave Ulrich)
  3. The 7 Laws of Attraction (Dan Clark)
  4. How to Know When the Holy Ghost is Speaking to You (Dean Kaelin)

Saturday night I went back to a Dance/Carnival where I had the chance to make some new friends. Then on Sunday, Steve Young spoke at a fireside in the Salt Lake Tabernacle...I was on about the 5th row. 'Twas awesome! Overall an amazing experience. I'm planning to go back next year.

The Diggs

So, I finally got around to taking those pictures I've promised everyone... Here's my new place:

Here is the view of my place from the street. Our parking slot is all the way to the left; there's also a little shed next to it.

Looking down at our front door and lawn from the carport...

The great and spacious...backyard! We can plant our veggies and flowers up close to the building. :0)

Floorplan - I've found this is the best way to communicate exactly how it's laid out.

Living room (please ignore the boxes)...

Dining room, complete with table and freezer.

Left side of kitchen, with back to dining room.

And the rest of the kitchen...

This is my favorite...probably because it's finished. This is the bathroom...
(Isn't it cute!?!?)

So, there 'tis. I've been living there for a little over a week now and I'm loving it. The location is awesome - I cut my commute in half. Plus I'm right in the middle of a city much like the one I grew up in...feels a little more like home!
